Default Door actuators cycling when unlocking with remote

Hi guys. This may be a common fault with this model (1999 kh 3.5litre varada) that when I unlock the doors with the remote more often than not all door actuators cycle on off several times and always end in the locked mode. Has anyone experienced this and how did they fix this annoying fault.

It isn't a common fault, but it can be caused by age and neglect.

Basically the lock motor in the drivers door is set to lock if the power supply to it is cut. If you unplug the motor, it will lock all the doors.

The reason they cycle is because the motor power is intermittent. You need to take the lock motor out of the door, then pull it apart, clean the contacts on the plug and the brass "finger" that makes contact inside the motor. It will return to normal after this.

If you don't wish to do this, replace the motor.

Thanks Mike. I will do exactly that. I am confident with your diagnosis.
    Thanks again.
